Second Top-Five of 2011 for Starr

For the second time in three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races, David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team have earned a top-five finish. Coming from nineteenth starting position on Saturday afternoon at the Michigan International Speedway, Starr brought the ASI Limited/Zachry Toyota home fifth, behind winner Kevin Harvick, his second top-five of 2011.

SS Green Light Racing driver David Starr has mixed emotions as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series reaches the halfway point of the 2011 season; Starr is excited about the team’s turnaround over the last few races, a surge that has propelled him seven places in the point standings but he is disappointed with the news that the AAA Insurance 200 on Friday night will be the last at one of his favorite tracks.

Another Strong Finish For Starr

The 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visited the Nashville Super Speedway twice in the 2011 season and just as he did back in April, David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing Team posted an eighth place finish in the Lucas Deep Clean 200 at the concrete mile and one third track. It was the third consecutive top-ten of the season for the Texas veteran.

Back to back top-ten finishes have given the SS Green Light Racing team a boost heading into this week’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Lucas Oil Deep Clean 200 at the Nashville Superspeedway. Adding to the momentum the team is building is Friday night’s race will be David Starr’s 200th consecutive start in the NCWTS stretching back to July 19th, 2003 at the Gateway International Raceway.

After an up and down start to the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing Team posted consecutive top-ten finishes for the first time this year finishing ninth in the Coca-Cola 200 presented by Hy-Vee at the Iowa Speedway after an eighth at Kentucky last week.

Starr Fights Tight Condition at Kansas

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series celebrated its 400th race; David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team spent the entire weekend at the Kansas Speedway working to improve the handling of the No. 81 Zachry Toyota. Despite the efforts and hard work of the team, the end result was a disheartening sixteenth place finish in the NCWTS O’Reilly Auto Parts 250.
