Starr has Strong Finish at Homestead in Season Finale

David Starr made a strong charge from his 23rd starting spot to finish 11th in the rain shortened NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford 200 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday evening.  David charged from 18th to 11th over the last 20 laps before the rains came and shortened the race 15 laps before the scheduled 134 laps.

As the old blues song goes... “If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have no luck at all.” David Starr and the SS Green Light team can feel the pain of renowned blues great Albert King as the bad luck bug bit the team once again in 2011. This time it was debris from another accident that damaged the radiator of the Zachry Toyota, ending Starr’s day just ten laps from the end of the 146-lap NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Second Straight Week Tire Problem Slows Starr

Two weeks ago a flat tire with less than ten laps to go in Atlanta cost David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team a possible top-five finish. The team has had it’s share of bad luck this season and for the second race in a row, a flat tire would cost Starr another strong finish Friday night in Chicago.

Daytona Pre-Race Report

“Each time I drive through the tunnel here at Daytona [International Speedway] I can’t believe I have the opportunity to race here.  It’s magical, even as a kid I always dreamed about racing here.  Even though I’ve raced here before, every time is like Christmas times 100. David Starr's Run In Nashville Uncharacteristic of HT Motorsports Team

This weekend the No. 24 Zachry Racing Team struggled to overcome some obstacles at the Nashville Superspeedway.  In practice David Starr could not get any grip in his race truck, and as it turned out the team discovered a ball joint had frozen up.  So all the changes they were making would not have made a difference.  The team went into the race with a blind setup from their teammate Terry Cook and Starr held his own around the top 10 despite the Toyota Tundra still being too tight to manage.  The team made numerous changes, even pitting in the final five laps with their never give up attitude.  Starr was able to finish the race in the 18th position.
