I just busted an email Phisher today, Using Paypal as their disguise..I dont know how many of you used paypal to Pay for their DSFC, But I did...So this email had me curious, because it said :
Dear PayPal Member,
As part of our efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for the online community, we regularly screen account activity. While reviewing your PayPal accounts, we observed activity that we would like to further verify. For this reason, limitations have been placed on your account until your will review your registered intormation. In order to resolve the account limitations, complete our online form by clicking on the following link:
Log on your PayPal account
After we have gathered the necessary information, your account will be reviewed for reinstatement and you will be notified by e-mail of our decision.
We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and apologize for any inconvenience.

Sooooooooo, Since it did not give My Name, and it said it needed My information, I went checking DIRECTLY to paypal.com...Nothing funny there, Paypal also says that They never ask for Info over the Phone or by email, and they always use our Full Names in any email that they do send... and then I found where to report this to...which was to Spoof@paypal.com
Now This email DID say that it was from service@paypal.com, but when I checked the properties on this email..It Wasnt paypal.com, so They masked their address Maybe? I dont know how people DO that... But Paypal told me That this IS Phishing and they would have stolen my identity and that I just saved myself and Others from Identity Theft!
Now I am Not saying that because I Just used Paypal for the Fan Club, That it could Happen to everyone else too, if they just used their Paypal...I am Sure it was Just a Coincidence, but Just Beware of these things and Make SURE of who you are dealing with Before You give out too much information...in ex...passwords, account #'s, Social Security, Driver License.....anything!! They ALMOST got Me, Because I ALMOST thought it WAS Paypal...Turned out it wasnt! |

Here is a page from eBay of what you should do IF you think your account has been compromised...it has a live chat link at the bottom so you can start a direct chat with an eBay representative to start the process to restore your account.

Here is another one to look out for:
Dear Value Member,
We are writing to alert you that your balance is not paid, because your
debit card issuer declined eBay's attempt to charge your card with your

The most important thing in those messages from eBay is to check to see if your NAME and eBAY ID is in the first sentance of the message...if it is not...it is bogus and just delete it. When in doubt if you get a message that appears from eBay... go to www.ebay.com and login in there...NEVER FOLLOW A LINK FROM THOSE EMAILS AND LOG IN...then go to the MY MESSAGES link and see if the same message appears there, they send one to your email and put it in that message center IF it is legit. If it is a bogus email, and you click on the link and attempt to log in there, you could be logging into somebodys scam and giving your eBay ID and password for them to do mischief with.
Never pay for an eBay item using instant cash, wire transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram. It's against the eBay Accepted Payments policy for a seller to request payment using these methods. They are unsafe, especially if you're paying someone whom you don't know.

WOW, Yes, I have Heard You need to be careful on Ebay too,. BUt I didnt know about the wire Transfer stuff being unsafe.,I guess I never would have thought that to be unsafe or even Against Ebay policy to use them Until you said that....I never have, I use Paypal..And I am Not a BIG Ebay'er, But I have use it for this and that ..
Always Pays to be Careful!! It's a Shame that there are those out there trying to harm people, steal from them and all..I hope all these Crooks get caught and get what they deserve..

Wow! THAT is Awesome that You do that! So you just look for the ones that use a Moneygram/wester union pay systems, Or what other kind of Hints do you look for?? Thats Interesting,..I also got a second email from those Same People...So they were not disabled yet ---I re-sent it, though..

The skid steer had to be a present for my brother as he loves this very much ,but he did not enjoy it as he died in a car accident 2 month ago. It brings very bad memories for me ,so here is it,I want to get rid of it as my mother also can not stand looking at this skid steer .Here people wont pay this amount for a skid steer as they prefer to buy a car for this money,so here it is.
All the manuals and the original documents are in English.It is made for US market and has US specs on it .
The buyer will receive this along with all papers and recipts that he needs to register it in his name.
The skid steer is in Europe, United Kingdom and it will be shipped from here.

I DO remember the day when You could Send Checks and Money orders...I won't Do that anymore, I never got wronged, but After paypal came around..I think thats best now that I know that these moneygram things are not safe to do...I havent done Those, I just remember sending money orders before PayPal came along..
