I don't know if we would all fit, but "Babes" up the road is really good. They serve fried chicken and chicken fried steak home style. They may not open up for lunch. I'm not sure. Thomas Where we eat doesn't really matter to me. I can eat anything, just look at me. It's the company that's important not the food. See yall there, Thomas |

Thomas,I am thinking that Babe's Doesnt Do lunch..We could Check, But I bet that it would Be crowded, it always is everytime we try to go see..We have never gotten inside the door there..always a long wait.
I was already thinking that Maybe we should Just Stick to the same Pizza plan for now-Its Easy to get to, Most everyone knows where it is, unless someone new comes along, but there is always enough of us to help them out..And We wouldnt want anyone to get lost on raceday, trying to find something Different..
- There is also a Chili's down the road in Roanoke, that is somewhat easy to find..But I dont know how accomodating they would Be for such a large group at lunchtime..I am inclined to think that it wouldnt work out that great..I'm not sure if we should wander out too far from the track, so as not to get the ones that are not familiar with the area lost...So we are not left with a ton of choices that I know of..
There is a nice air-conditioned restaurant near the garage areas...But everyone would have to have at least a pit pass to get to it..
Anyone else have anything in mind? Or just Do Our usual ? |

I thought that we had an edit button on here.
Anyway, Thomas and Donna what tracks are ya'll going to this year? Steve and I were going to go to Nashville we were also talking about going back to Gateway again this year but we have decided with the raising gas prices we are only going to do Nashville. We did Atlanta earlier this year and we Loved it. We had a spot in the infield there and had a Great Time. |

| Hi Shirley, Pizza is fine. It is easy to find and good. We probably help out the pizza place anyway. They can use our money. We loved Kansas. We hated David's bad luck, but we loved seeing him in the lead. This year we plan on going to both Texas races and Memphis. We love Gateway, Nashville, and IRP, but we can't go as much this summer. I have to teach ACT Prep classes all of June and go to two weeks of AP Calculus training in July. We couldn't afford the gas either. If I can get Donna off work, I plan on taking her to Homestead. Wish that we could join you in Nashville. Maybe you could come to Memphis. It is a great race just hotter than Hades. See yall soon, Thomas |

I'd like to offer up a suggestion.
If the Plano VFW isn't inconvenient, we'd be more than happy to host this for ya'll. We pretty much have a full service kitchen, so we could offer burgers, dogs, fried catfish, whatever ya'll want. Our banquet hall will hold 50+ people easily.
If there's any interest, let me know and I'll start working on the details. If not, no harm, no foul.
Oh, it would be free (the banquet hall, not the food ); not a rental.

Hello Everyone, how's everyone been? Good I hope. I've had some health issues this year and haven't made it to one race I was suppose to go to Bristol but my health wouldn't allow it. I hope to make it to Indy, Bristol Spring race and all races at Gateway this year. It's so nice to see that everyone is going to meet up at Texas in a few weeks. I wish I was going to be there this year. I fully planned on it but I got sick. I am working on getting better. Is anyone coming to Gateway this year? I hope so I'd love to see everyone. I'm proud of David he's 12th right now in the standings and before soon I'm sure he'll be back in the top 10. Well, I better get back to work. Have a great day everyone. |

It is good to hear from you. I will be praying for you and hope that things get better. I think that Michelle is going to try and come down in June for the race. You 2 need to get together and ride down here. Ya'll can stay with us. So, you wont have a motel bill. We have an Infield Spot and can watch the race from there. We would really love it if ya'll could make it.

Thank You Bigsapper, for the offer!! Thats Very interesting! I have no clue how far from the track that Plano is...What Does Everyone else think ?? Jump on in guys and gals with your thoughts on this -Because THIS is For US Fans and however and wherever we want to do this! So Jump in, lets hear from the rest of us !
Shashagabore ~ Its good to hear from you again...SO very sorry you have been ill, I do hope you are getting better...I guess with these gas prices, we are probably just only doing both of the Texas Races---We DID want to do a third race somewhere else this season, but havent made any plans to...Who knows, we may change our minds later on and end up Going somewhere else..But take care, hope You get well soon, and Hope we all get to meet up at some point in time!

There is a Sunny Bryan's BBQ just south of the track off 35W at Westport Parkway (about 3 miles south of the track). They have a large party room, if you called them you probably could reserve it.
Maybe even you webmaster could make it ! AS I live right by the speedway and also manage the TexasMotorSpeedway.com site and will be at the track all weekend working on both sites! I manage Teamtexas.com as well.

Thank for the offer on the VFW but it would take us about 1 hr to get over to Plano. I would like to stay close to the track as possible. BBQ does sound good for a change. I would really love to have some good BBQ. But, I don't think anyone puts as much "LOVE" into it as Mr. Starrs_It. I think that was the Best BBQ that I have ever eat. WM. It would be Awesome if you could get a chance to meet up with us at some point. |

Well, since we had somewhat of a Starr Fan Family reunion today at the Toyota event, most of us were there, and the consensus was The Pizza Place to have the lunch at again, Because of easy out and easy back in, on race day...So I guess we will Have Pizza!!...Might as well just make Mr. Jim's THE place for all Our Future Luncheons! Hope everyone else is fine with that, It is good pizza and they do have a salad bar too...Also Hope to have a Big huge crowd as we usually do! |

Hey Shirley thank you for the offer of coming to stay with you. I had planned on doing that this year but I'm afraid that I'm not going to make it this year. I would love to get down that way soon. I hope your offer will still be good in the future.
Michelle you and I need to get together soon. I would love to meet you. You'll have to get with Shirley to get my personal e-mail address so we can make arrangements to meet.
Tom and Donna, I hope this note finds you both well. I've been meaning to call you but things have been a little crazy with me lately. Hope all is well.
Talk to everyone soon. Shannon |
