I spoke with Rick Allen yesterday about there coverage of the truck series. First thing I let him know was that we as fans do appreciate Speed covering our trucks because no one else will. But then I let him know that David was the driver of the #11 truck just incase he didn't know. He asked why I asked him that question???? I told him because we hardly ever see him on TV or spoke about. Then I let him have it for everyone on this board. I told him that Mikey was unwatchable and was pathetic as an announcer and needed to go. His one sided calling of the race and his constant #17 is the best and #17 sure looks good and the #17 should be winning the race. Well any way I then found out through some sources at the race track that nascar spoke with the drivers on Friday about Speeds coverage and they wanted to know did anyone want to make any suggestions to help next year. Another driver raised his hand and said Mikey needed to be removed from the booth next year as well. But just so everyone knows Rick Allen is a very nice guy and does like David a lot. I thought you guys might like to hear this.

HEY Thanks, Eddie! Great Job!! Thats so cool about the other driver too!

And thats exactly how I feel, I LOVE and APPRECIATE SPEED...But I can't stand Mikey in the booth--I USED to be a big fan of his until he opened his mouth too much in the Booth..

Well, they SHOULD talk ALOT about David at the next race, in Martinsville with him being the previous winner there..We Shall See! Hope it did some Good, Eddie and Opened Rick's eyes, that David doesnt get the coverage he deserves..

Thanks Eddie...
Scorpio and I both think the David Starr coverage on speed stinks! I'm glad you got a chance to speak your mind with Rick Allen (and glad to hear that he is a nice guy) Like you said, at least Speed covers CTS.. 'cause no one else will..

Mikey can be a pain-in-the-a** and has a well known reputation as "promoter".. Especially of his own interests! However, here is why I don't say anything about their coverage in a public forum.

AS YOU ALL KNOW... Mikey and DW have been in the NASCAR business a LONG time... they both are members of the "owners" club. Jeff Hammond was DW's Crew Chief during the glory days and is now David's boss. Hmmmm... two brothers, into Toyota teams, a life-long friend and former crew chief owns the Toyota team for which David works...( Ya think there might be a connection?) Additionally, if you recall, David turned down an offer to drive Toyota the first year it raced in order to be loyal to Spears Mfg. Who was that owner? ;) Methinks there is more to this whole lash-up than meets the eye.

Personally, I don't think getting Mikey canned at Speed is going to be good for David... just a feeling. I think blood and friendship is thicker than water. And, like it or not... NASCAR racing is more business than sport. anyway, just some thoughts...
Glad you got some shots in!
