David seemed Excited about the inaugural Dega CTS race coming up! He told us he thought it was cool to go to a track with so much history, and all the Greats that have raced there--makes him think alot of Dale Sr.. Also, it will be Krissy/SuperStarr's Birthday, What a Cool Birthday present for Her to have our Fav Driver in Victory Lane at DEGA!!
Check out David's Talladega Preview, at the RHR site!

We are having a great time over here. (Dega is East of Dallas) We went down into the pits this morning to watch David Qualify. Then we came back to the trailer and climbed up to the top to watch rest of trucks. After Qualify we ran into 11truckfan. (Eddie) Kim was there today and we got to visit with her. She is so Sweet. She is so nerves about the race tomorrow. This place is a mad house. Thank God for TMS! We gave David his basket today because we were unsure if we will be going down into the pits tomorrow. The walk to the infield is so far.
We had a wired thing that happen to us today but I will let Steve tell ya'll about that. It is not very funny but we got throw it. |

We learned a couple interesting things about Talladega today. First of all Tow truck drivers can’t read. Shirley and I went back today and parked in the same place were we parked yesterday. We went down to see David. As we were walking back to our Van we could not see it. So we just thought that a Big Truck was blocking the view. As we got closer we realized that it was not there. OMG Someone had stolen the Van. We waved down a security officer. And told him that we had parked our Van here earlier. So he went down to the impound lot and there it was. He came back and told us that it was there and the handicap sticker was in the window. The security officer came back and picked us up and took us to the security office. This is when I learned I don’t want to be here after dark. To get in the car they had to move some of there guns they had 2 machine guns, 2 shotguns, bullet proof vest, smoke bombs, plus there hand guns. If they need all of this to patrol the park after dark I don’t need to stay here after dark….. But back to the Van when we got to the impound lot and told what happened they gave us back the van at NO CHARGE. They told us that lot was closed but there wasn’t a sign to tell us that. Going to another track shows us how lucky we are at TMS. I hope things go better sat. I can’t wait to see David in VL.

| Well folks I just got back home an hour ago from Talladega, what a drive home. Thanks Lisa for checking up on us on our way back to the casa, it was nice to talk with you. Here is what I saw and heard at the races today. First David had an excellent truck early on in the race. He had a rocket ship coming off of turn two and no one out ran him there. There were several trucks on different pit strategy after that and David had to work his way back up through the field which he did. What hurt David the most was with about 13 to 15 laps to go David got on the radio with his spotter and asked him to get with the 50 trucks spotter to ask him if they would go with David if he was to step out of line. Within 10 seconds his spotter told him yes but when the green dropped and David pulled out in turn two the 50 cut under David and left David out to dry and David was one of the last trucks out there. Talladge is nothing more than a dog eat dog world and you have no friends. It was nice seeing the David Starr fans and Kim along with Tom Deloach but for any of you guys that have never been, don't. It has to be one of the worst tracks to really see what is going on in the race. The track is so far away it is really hard to see. Lastly it's just the overall feel you have at the track. At Fort Worth it's race fans that love racing and having a good time. At Talladega it's people that love to party and racing is secondary. Wish we could have worked our magic with David it was just not meant to be. I'm tired and need a little shut eye before the kids wake up in 2 hours. |

We have made it home. Finely. We had to stop and get some sleep before we drive the rest of the way. Then we just took our time getting home.
We didn't get down into the pits before the race. It was crazy getting into the track. Then trying to find a place to park. I was really wonting to get down there but the walk was just to far.
We were setting in the Tri-Oval in roll 55 and could bearly see the back stretch. It was so hard to try to keep up with David back there. It was a different race and it kept you on the edge of your sets. We also bought a Program at Dega and it was outdated. They still had David driving the 38 truck and wearing the Spears uniform.
The next time that we take an adventure we will try a different track. Maybe a short track. We heard alot about Bristol.
More later.
