My father and I went to Homestead this weekend to see the race and see if we could will him into the top 10 in points. We met David at the track right before practice started and I gave him a small dinosaur my son gave me to give to David for good luck. By the way he was tie strapped to David's roll cage for the entire race. He was very excited about the upcoming race and his 2008 ride with Red Horse Racing. During the first practice David ran about 20th and said that he had a fast truck but it was pushing bad in turns 3 & 4. The crew tried everything they could in the 2 hour practice but still could not fix it just right. After the practices I met Tom DeLoach with Red Horse Racing and had a very good conversation with him. He told me that David's new sponsor, I do not know who it will be, is planning on doing this deal the right way. They want to go all out to make the #11 truck visible and to win a championship. Now the part every David Starr fan has been waiting for, they are talking about DIE CAST TRUCKS, caps and shirts. I'm only telling you guys what I was told so if this doesn't happen don't shoot the messenger. Tom is very happy to have David back and so is the team. Almost the entire crew came over to David after the race to congratulate him on his 10 place finish in the championship. Now to the race David started way back in the pack and picked up maybe 4 spots in the first 15 laps due to a loose truck. Once the caution flew they took right side tires and made an adjustment, which did little to help the trucks handling. David went down a lap to Benson later in the run but 2 laps after Benson went by David he had to pit since he did not pit on lap 15 with David and about 10 other trucks. This allowed David to get back on the lead lap. Since David had only about 15 more laps of gas it was going to take a miracle for David to stay on the lead lap and it happened when Skinner lost a wheel in turn 4. David was only a lap away from pitting under green. The crew chief told David to conserve fuel since it was going to take a few laps before the pits opened. David came down pit road for another adjustment and four tires with fuel. Well one of the tires got away from the crew and he had to start at the tail end of the longest line. Good thing was there was only 11 trucks on the lead lap. Caution quickly flew after this and David was allowed to move up behind the 10th place truck. Once the green flag flew after this David started picking off the truck even though the change to his truck made it a little too tight in the corners. David drove the high line the last 50 plus laps and thats where he picked up all the spots at the end of the race. Once the race was over and we made it to pit road there we found David hugging Tom DeLoach and his wife along with several of their friends. Right after that David was back with his crew and giving more high fives and huggs to everyone. I want everyone to know that can't make it to the track and see behind the scenes of David's race team, they work their butts off and love what they do. David loves and cares for each one of them like they are family. From me and my father I say thank you to each and everyone of them for making us feel welcome and part of their family. I wish the entire team good luck next year and hope to see them down on pit road again. As a David Starr fan I want to say we have the best driver in the series hands down. He is nothing but class on and off the track and is someone that we all wish our kids can become one day. In closing Tom DelOach told me one thing as he walked away. He told all his guys that next year he wants to win the championship. He has the equipment, the crew and now his driver back. If you could have heard his words to me he believes in it and will do what it takes to make that a reality next year. Sorry for the rambling but Lisa got it worse last night after the race, actually all day with my updates. Thank you Lisa for getting me in Pop's into the track. I will try to post a photo of the dinosaur in the truck. See you guys next year.

where do I start? After a season low 36st place finish last week at
Phoenix, and just about all hopes of a 10th place finish in the points
out of reach, we weren't about to give up on David and our owners and
sponsers. David fought all night and we did what we were supposed to do
over the wall. Finally this week, we got a bit of good luck for once,
something that has been avoiding us all season long. It was a team goal
going into the 07' season, and the entire 10 team is so happy to
acheive that goal and I know what it means to David. He is hands down a
great guy, and can really drive what we give him. I wish him all the
luck next year, I know he's going to do well, I have several friends on
his new team and I told them something they already know, that they
will have a great driver in 08'. Thanks to all you fans that support
him, you all are great too. We never quit on him as a team and you
never quit on our team or David, thank you. Now its time to rest for a
week and get right back at it for next year. Its going to be different
next season without him, but he will do just fine and the 10 team will
be just as strong, if not stronger in 08' if we all stick together.
Thanks again for supporting David and the entire CBR team this year.
