I hate to say it, but, I think it is probably every bit as bad as it looks. I feel sorry for Mr. Deloach and Red Horse Racing. They are a great group of people and this has got to sting.

Wasn't that A Shocker!

I hate to say it toooo...But I think its bad also --Well, I mean, afterall..it was Fike's Fiancee with him..I had hoped at first, that maybe he was with some aquaintance or something and was not involved in the drugs and/or didnt know what was going on..--But with it being his fiancee, then he HAD to know what was going on and probably doing the drugs too..Thats too bad...I really thought that Fike was doing SOO welll...He was gonna be rookie of the year I am sure..

I feel really REALLY bad for Mr Deloach and Mr Hammond too..And I hope that everything turns out alright for THEM...As far as Fike --He knew he shouldnt do Drugs, and it was HEROIN..Omg, thats So bad...He obviously made some bad choices and now he has to deal with it...So I really cant feel too sorry for him...And He had JUST seen what happened to Tyler Walker..

Well if you ask me, you get what you deserve. Why in this world would anyone, no matter what your career is, get involved with drugs of any kind. If you are a fortunate one to have a career as a pro athlete, or a driver (as he WAS), would really, really be stupid. I'm sorry, but drug use doesn't belong in ANY sport.

This is sad News. Mike you are right why would anyone use Drugs? I do believe that Nascar should do those spot checks at every race. But, then again it is too easy these days to get it out of your systems.

It's also got to be a big blow for that sponsor who bought him the ride. Lots of embarrassed people. Ya know who I really feel for?...... his family.

In 7 Months he joined an elite club that has the most exclusive membership in sports (3 series x 40 drivers = 120 total full time drivers) and has risked this for what? If you are a race car driver who goes 200 MPH and you need a high...go get behind the wheel of your race car! I have been there... THERE IS NO OTHER HIGH! Well maybe sky diving...

Bad news for Fike and RHR. This article says he admitted to using... Doesn't he know that stuff kills many people every year?! He'd have to have been high to be trying that garbage considering his career was at stake.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/motor/nascar/2007-07-09-fike_N.htm

I hope he gets his act together for his sake, his fiance and family, etc. Better busted than dead.

Jay, That IS confusing ---Makes No sense to me, But here is another article that is more detailed..

"Both were charged with drug abuse, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

".....Fike entered a not guilty plea to the misdemeanor charge, and agreed to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation as a condition of his release, his attorney, Charlie Rittgers, said.

Trial on the misdemeanor charge was scheduled for Aug. 28, and a preliminary hearing on the felony charge was set for July 19, according to the court's Web site, which list the same court dates for Davidson.

Rittgers said Davidson's parents were arranging for an attorney to represent her."

Here is the rest of that article....

The Felony is the Drug Abuse...the misdemeanor is the possession of the drug paraphernalia...So....He or THEY admit to USING, but not the stuff they used it with??

just because you admit to it to the paper doesn't mean you HAVE to plead guilty.  they catch people red handed and they always plead not guilty.  that way you go to a jury trial and get a chance to get a bunch of idiots who will let you off.
